Vintage Thursday

This paper cutting in the frame is a gift from my wedding.

Although it isn't the best picture, a friend's Mom painstakingly cut this design.

It's one of my favorite Christmas decorations. I obviously display it by my kitchen sink, so I remember the love she poured into it.

Anyone know what the name of this techinque is ?

Wordless Wendsday

Tackle it Tuesday.

This dresser is a hand-me-down. It wasn't the "right" shade of blue for my boy's room. This picture shows the spray paint using disadvantage, but only in the flash of a camera( bad picture) . So, we are happy with the results. The rope handles make it creative fun, that my 6 yr old adores.

On a side note, my son has informed me at Sunday School the boys practical using their bad words, such as Bamn it ( yes w/ a "B" ), what the heck and stupid. Oh I long for these innocent days to continue. We teach him that God has given him a cage for his tongue ( teeth) . And, those bad words will not earn him friends. And, for the Drama queen I am I added that if one of the boy's Mom's come after him, I cannot defend him, B/C I didn't say the word. Oh Boy !

My Hubby Rocks !

So here's another Friday, and I will once again brag about my hubby !
As you can see he finished the rock garden, but he also takes me yard sailing and finds the best stuff. We have an on going contest and right now he holds the " Best" title. He bought a set of inflatable life jackets for $10, I think I saw a CNN correspondent wearing one on the coast while Ike pounded him.
Here's a table and some chairs he bought for $17. And, on a trip to Home Depot he brought home the Gerber Daisy plant, just bc he's that kinda guy.
The coffee cups are my own brag $1, they're Pier One, and a great blend of colors.

Vintage Thursday

This has been my piggy bank since the 70's,
and 30 yrs. makes something vintage. There I am, too !
Donald Duck has always been my favorite, b/c who can resist a guy who can make you laugh ? Just call me Daisy ?

It still has my penny collection, will they ever be worth something, I suspect in today's economy I might need to empty them out. LOL

On another subject, I've deemed myself a visual learner, as all my blog post have pictures, and few words. Oh, the countless thing you can learn of self while blogging. So, to challange my self I will atempt to write more, without rambling, wish my luck, oh yeah i don't beleive in luck anymore, pray for me..........here I ramble.......... hope this is a great throwback for sister Kel, who had a Mickey?

Works for me Wendesday

What works for me over and over again is Freecycle !
I post about it often b/c it's great.......
We picked up this brand new (Mike had to assemble) rocking horse for Titus.
I promised he liked it, until it was time to snap a shot.

On another subject, one of our Youth group grads, is studying hair.
So I signed up to be her model, and she she hightlighted my hair
and got the orange tones that blondes hate out.
Soon, she'll give me a cut, and I'll up date her work,
b/c I'm very proud of her,
and happy to have my hair done FREE !

Tackle it Tuesday

This was a simple tackle, but everything in it place helps me keep the sanity !
Today I am asisting Noah's art teacher in class, thats a tackle in reverse, as you set up supplies, then work with the kids to find thier inner artist, seriously pray for me remember I'm the Momma that has nightmares about crafts.
