Recipe from " Bounteous Blessings" and it has won 2 blue ribbons at the county fair !
1-1/2 cps flour
2 cps sugar
3/4 cp baking cocoa
2 tsp. baking soda
1 cp strong coffee
1 cp buttermilk
1/2 cp vegetable oil
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
Preheat oven to 350*
Grease & flour 13X9 cake pan or two 9"round pans.
Combine all the dry ingredients in lg. mixer.
Add rest of ingredients and beat at md. speed for two minutes ( batter will be thin).
Pour into pans, bake 35-40 minutes for lg. pans or 30-35 minutes for round pans.
Cool on rack before frosting.
Mocha Cocoa Frosting
1/3 cp melted butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
3 cps. powdered sugar
1/2 cp baking cocoa
1/4 tsp.salt
1/3 cp brewed black coffee
this cake has quite a KICK, and I make it for adults. It's obviously my favorite.

2 blue ribbons? Wonder if it was at our county fair ... a cake there auctioned/sold for over $1,000 - can you believe it?!? Hope the $ went to a good charity! Might have to try this recipe!
