Noah's first night home. Christmas 2004Mike & I first got involved with a Calvary affiliate program Eastern European Outreach
when researching our Ukrainian adoption. We were impressed with their commitment to Ukraine, and decided to sponsor a child.
Her name is Yana, we have sponsored her for 6 yrs. And, were able to met her when traveling for our adoption.
She is a ball of fire, sweet smile and wise beyond her years, as she was six at the time we meet her. We meet at church where she sat on Mike's lap and dangled her shoes we had helped purchase for her Birthday. We had no translator, and our driver knew no English. We did alot of smiling and hugging !
Days later on our 9 hr. drive to Noah's orphanage, the driver told our translator what Yana had been saying to us the day we met. " I want you to be my Daddy's, please take me home with you. I will be a good girl."
Well, the Lord is wise and knew that had we heard, we'd say " Yes". But, by the time the driver and translator told us it was too late. Noah alone was to be ours.
Today Noah has become a sponsor for a boy in Ukraine.
This experience will be enduring and possibly a life-long friendship.
As the holidays are approaching, we will "tighten our belts", to be able to send our monthly support of $27.00.
Noah has already given the money he was saving for Star Wars Lego's. And, is writing a colorful letter to send out. He really wants to send ABC's Home Makeover to fix their home, but we me agreed we will commit to pray for Jesus to take care of their home.
I post this as an encouragement, that their are needy children everywhere, we can help, will you ?
